A Visit That Changed Everything

Since August 2025, our team had been in conversation with a woman who felt immediately drawn to the vision of The Farm at Okefenokee.

She cared deeply about clean eating.
Healthy living.
Understanding exactly where her food comes from.

The idea of a regenerative farm community wasn’t just interesting to her — it resonated at a core level.

But as it does for so many of us, practical concerns began to take over:

  • What would I do for work if I moved?

  • I don’t want a long commute.

  • My adult child still lives at home.

  • The timing isn’t quite right.

All reasonable. All responsible. All very real.

For months, those questions kept her from taking the flight to see the Farm in person.

Then She Came to Dinner

In January 2026, she decided to attend one of our monthly Farm-to-Table dinners.

That day, something shifted.

She walked the property.
She saw the gardens and orchards.
She experienced the slower rhythm of the land.
She met the people stewarding it.
She tasted food harvested just hours before it was served.

And afterward, she said something that stayed with our team:

“It’s even more incredible than I imagined.”

Despite every logical reason she once had for why it might not work, one realization became clear:

She couldn’t imagine not being part of it after experiencing it for herself.

Clarity Comes From Showing Up

Sometimes clarity doesn’t come from thinking harder.

It comes from stepping onto the land.
From sharing a meal.
From breathing the air.
From feeling the pace slow down.

For this new property owner, the difference wasn’t more analysis — it was presence.

If you’ve found yourself saying “maybe someday,” consider this your invitation.

Come to dinner.
Take a tour.
Walk the land.

You may discover that the life you’ve been imagining is closer than you think. 🌱
